COURSE LENGTH

Course Durations and Total Training Hours

Every PTR course lists its duration by format, with hours per day and total days. Course length depends on the time needed to cover the material well. Most courses run one day, and in-depth programs run two to eight days.

Because live virtual days are 4 hours and onsite days are 6 hours, total training hours differ by format. Multiply hours per day by the number of days to see the total for your group.

TRAINING FORMATS

Choose Live Virtual or Onsite Instructor-Led Training

Both training delivery methods are live, interactive and led by an expert PTR instructor. The difference is where your group meets and how the training day is structured.

Live Virtual Instructor-Led Training

Live virtual instructor-led training (VILT) is a real-time class led by a PTR instructor over a secure videoconferencing platform. Participants join from home or the office and take part just as they would in a classroom: asking questions, working in small groups and practicing new skills.

Join from anywhere
A natural fit for remote, hybrid and multi-site teams, with no travel for participants or the instructor.
Built-in interaction
Breakout rooms, whiteboard tools, visuals and interactive activities keep the group engaged.
Secure and supported
A PTR technical team deploys platform features so the session runs smoothly.
4 hours per day
A focused session that fits around the workday.
Lower overhead
Typically requires fewer resources than onsite training.

Best for: distributed and remote teams, multi-site agencies, and groups that want to limit time away from work.

Onsite Instructor-Led Training

Onsite training brings a PTR instructor to the location you choose, such as your office, agency facility or another venue, for an in-person session with your group. Learning together in one room builds momentum, collaboration and team cohesion.

Hands-on practice
Activities and practical exercises apply concepts to real-world scenarios.
Immediate answers
One-on-one discussion and instant feedback from the instructor.
Stronger working relationships
Build connections across your department or organization.
6 hours per day
A full in-person training day.
Travel included
Instructor travel is part of PTR’s onsite group price.

Best for: teams in one location, team-building and culture goals, and skills that benefit from hands-on practice.

Live virtual courses run 4 hours per day and onsite courses run 6 hours per day. Most courses are one day; in-depth programs run two to eight days. Each course page lists hours per day, number of days and total hours.

Yes. Group training is scheduled around your team’s availability. You choose the dates and start times, and PTR coordinates the instructor.
